Understanding the Difference: Bribe, Fee, Legal Commission, and Public Relations Expenses

Dear Readers,

While negotiating with a client, he remarked, “You don’t turn lawyer.” I clarified that when I mention “legal commission,” I’m not promoting illegality. Here’s the distinction between “a bribe,” “a fee,” “a legal commission,” and “public relations expenses”:

  • A Bribe: An illegal payment to influence decisions, unethical and unlawful.
  • A Fee: A legitimate payment for services agreed upon by both parties.
  • A Legal Commission: A lawful percentage earned for facilitating a deal, documented and regulated.
  • Public Relations Expenses: Legitimate costs for promoting a company’s public image, such as media relations and advertising.

Not everything is a bribe or inducement. If you are qualified and following the due process, you’re not offering anything to bypass the system.

At BIZVILLE, we focus on legal fees, commissions, and public relations expenses to maintain transparency and uphold ethical standards. We believe in open dialogue to clarify any questions and foster trust in our business practices.

Warm Regards,
