Realizing the Need for Experienced Leadership in the Oil & Gas EPC Sector

According to GPT AI, the CEO in the Nigerian Oil and Gas EPC sector needs a minimum of 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas EPC sector, with at least 10 years in a senior executive role. Unlike the COO requiring the Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas EPC sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

You see why I’m not qualified to be the CEO in my own company even if I’m the founder or a member of the Board of Directors. Forget the story; this is not IT (Mark Zuckerberg); this is Oil and Gas EPC.

Maybe I need to find a CEO I can be subjected to as a younger person. I feel this is important so that clients (asset owners), investors, and funding partners can start believing in our organization.

That is actually the idea of corporate governance and accountability in order to build a legacy of a company that can live beyond the founder.
