Dear BIVILLEPM Community,
Working on bylaws involves setting up clear C-Level functions and then cascading them into sub-functions and processes. This important experience opened my eyes to some things I initially overlooked. This hierarchy ensures that each sub-function has a corresponding SOP to guarantee standardization across the organization. Furthermore, sub-functions can be broken down into deliverables (outputs) to create an organizational process map with clear inputs and outputs.
Here’s a breakdown to help you streamline your operations so that ultimately ISO 9001:2015 is aligned:
📊 Function:
- Definition: Major areas of responsibility within the organization.
- Examples: Financial Management, Human Resources, Operations, Marketing.
📜 Policies and Guidelines for Each Function:
- Standards: Codified rules or benchmarks from regulatory bodies or best practices.
- Applicable Laws: Legal regulations governing activities or industries.
📋 Sub-Function (Procedure/Process):
- Definition: Specific tasks within a function.
- Examples: Budget Planning, Expense Reporting within Financial Management.
📝 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Each Sub-Function:
- Definition: Detailed instructions for tasks within a sub-function.
- Examples: SOP for Budget Planning, SOP for Expense Reporting.
🎯 Deliverable (Output):
- Definition: Tangible or intangible results produced by sub-functions or processes.
- Examples: Budget Report, Expense Report, Audit Report.
