Navigating Professional Boundaries for Success
Dear readers,
Having healthy boundaries is crucial for any human being; you cannot work in a place where you take orders from everyone. A maximum of two people is ideal for a Matrix Organization Structure to set the tone for what is a priority work for the week and the day.
I’m not going to lie to you; one thing I dislike from being a Senior Planning Engineer is that everyone wants to give you orders (even on weekends), especially when you are managing multiple projects.
It’s always important to set ground rules for everyone else to go through these two people only. I have consistently operated by this, and it’s unfortunate that some people dislike it.

Afterthought: If you’re a PM for an EPC Company, your key bosses are the ASSET OWNER Contract Holder (usually the Client PM or PE) and your Project Sponsor (typically the COO or CEO). When they call, even at midnight or on weekends, it’s crucial to respond promptly. For a Senior Planning Engineer, clear coordination of duties is vital; without it, they may end up reporting to everyone with conflicting demands. #EPC #Engineering #NigeriaJobs 🏗️👷♂️
