Facing Setbacks in the ASSET OWNER Side

Dear BIVILLEPM Community,
The awkward moment when it dawned on you that you might never work on the ASSET OWNER side again in Nigeria. It’s a difficult pill to swallow, but it’s real for me. I made a list of the top 7 companies, and all have turned me down at one time or another.
The latest setback is that one company (the dream one) wants me to take an aptitude test from the same recruiter who triggered negative emotions 12 years ago. Back then, they gave the job to 2–2 grads while those of us with 1st Class/2–1 wrote the test for formality but were excluded.
I no longer have any trust in Dragnet (they were part of the reasons for #BIZVILLEPM). We took the test to the best of our ability, but it was ultimately given to those with connections rather than merit. I avoided these companies then, knowing that taking the test would break my spirit and confidence, much like how I can no longer achieve the IELTS scores I had in 2016.

Another company imposed an age limit on applications. It’s a tough reality, and I’ve decided to give up on the ASSET LIFE CYCLE (Identify > Assess > Select > Define > Execute). All of this happened just this week, and I’m feeling sad. To stay positive, I’ve started listening to motivational audio on Spotify and thinking about thriving on the side of frugal CONTRACTORS.
