Beyond Money: Discovering Purpose and Passion

If you had all the money, you need in life, what would you do with your time? It’s essential to identify what truly drives you — what you love and what brings you fulfillment.

Many of us grew up facing limitations that prevented us from pursuing our passions. Perhaps you dreamed of becoming an Engineer but lacked the necessary skills, environment, or opportunities to excel. Today, with access to AI tools, resources, and some financial means, what excuse remains? None.

For me, the question “When you make money, then what?” posed by a senior colleague still resonates. My answer has always been: “Then I will become an Engineer, invent solutions, and build systems.”

This is when you realize life isn’t solely about accumulating wealth. Even if I decide to Japa (emigrate) today and someone asks, “And then what?”, my answer remains the same: “I will return to Nigeria, leverage my skills, and contribute by inventing and building solutions.”

True purpose goes beyond financial success. It’s about creating impact. Overtime, I have come to discover that for me, “they will love me, respect me, and value me.” But who are “they”? My family, my community, my friends and the people of Igbo (and Nigeria).

We often believe success begins and ends with money. However, finding and living your purpose is what truly defines your legacy.

Warm Regards,
